Game and Sportsman Essay Example for Free

Game and Sports gentleman EssaySportsmanship does not mean save taking part in sports and playing the game in conformity with the rules prescribed, but also playing the game of animateness in the spirit imbibed on the playing fields. A true sportsman is he who observes all those rules in life which he has been taught to observe in games. One who has achieved skill or development in games but does not learn to apply the principles of sports to life in general does not deserve to be called a sportsman. On the contrary, a man who gives evidence of possessing a sporting spirit in games is still a sportsman.Usually those who play games develop into true sportsmen because their character is molded by the homework they be given on the field. It implies fair play. Just in games if any player plays foul, the side to which he belongs is penalized, similarly in the bigger game of life champion must always be fair in ones dealings with others. Fairness, honesty, integrity, openness of heart and frankness -these are the qualities that a sportsman must expose in life. One should not practice deception, should not bluff, should not cheat others and should indulge in diplomacy or humility.A sportsman never takes extravagant advantage of the weakness of his adversary nor does he hit below the belt. The art implies obedience to the leader. In games the players have to obey their captain and yield to him on points on which they are in disagreement with him. They must repose the fullest confidence in him. In life too, a sportsman yields to his superior even if he does not agree with him. Respect for discipline is an essential part of sportsmanship. Team spirit is another important element of sportsmanship. In games the various players must cooperate with one another if they wish to win a match. Without mutual co-operation success is impossible. Similarly in whatever sphere of life one may be, one must aid and be aided by ones friends if one is a true sportsman. Sportsm anship consists in working in full harmony with others. In cooperation indeed lies strength. wherever a common aim binds a number of people together, they must display their sportsmanship by working harmoniously, without friction or mutual jealousy. Finally, the spirit of sportsmanship demands sunlight even in the face of a defeat. When two players play a tennis match, the loser does not cherish any grudge against the winner. In event the loser congratulates his opponent on his success and shakes hands with him. Fair play, respect for discipline, recognition of the need for teamwork and cheerfulness even in the event of defeat are thus the dominant marks of a sportsman. Sportsmanship is worthy of admiration.

Football hero Essay Example for Free

Football hero EssayThe book I read was Football admirer by Time Green. The setting of the book is Atlanta, Georgia during the fall. The main places in the story are the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, troy weights middle school and football game field, and Troys house. The story is written in first person because Troy (the main character) is telling the story. There is figurative language in this story. On page 229 a simile is used that says hes big and slow like a turtle. There is also an idiom on page 57 that says the Duluth fans poured over the fence, swarming the end zone. The main character of Football Champ is Troy. He is a middle school football role player and a football genius. Troy is strong, brave, and good hearted. Another main character is Seth who is a NFL linebacker and dating Troys mom. Seth is kind, strong, and fights for what he believes in. Troys mom is another important character. She is caring and kind. She takes care of Seth and Troy.Troys best friends, Nathan and Tate, are middle school football players. They care about Troy and help him solve the jobs caused by Peele, the main bad guy. Peele is a reporter trying to destroy Troy and Seth. The main problem in the story is Peel and Seths doctor working together to destroy Seths football career by craft about Seth using steroids. Peel also lies about Troy and convinces the NFL that Troy is stealing the other teams playbooks. Peel is trying to do this because he blames Seth for ruining his football career.Troy and his friends solve the problem by going to Seths doctor and getting him to tell the right about Seth on DVD. Troy and Seth prove that Troy did not steal the playbooks by going to one of the other NFL owners and showing him that Troy is a real football genius. Seth gets to continue in the NFL and Troy gets to work with the Atlanta Falcons. The moral of Football Champ is to never give up. I figured this out when Troy played his middle school football games. The other teams were alwa ys bigger and better, but Troy and his team never gave up. They stop up winning all of their games. They proved to everyone who doubted them that they were wrong. The book Football Champs was amazing in my opinion. It was hard for me to put this book down because it was fun to read. I would urge this book to 5th and 6th graders because it was made for them. I chose this book because I love football and the author is Tim Green. He has a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons.

The patient notify handle the basics of activity daily living such as eating, bathing, toileting, dressing and she is able walk and get out of the bed pull ahead she is not able to perform certain activities such as food preparation, keep and driving a car. After the acute symptoms have been treated the family should be given health education about how to prevent possible future hypersensitized reaction and the importance of seeking help as quick as possible if they do not know how to deal with the situation. Physical examination was make for cardiovascular system representing chest is equal in shape, no bounding or heaving, no lifting with meansbeat. Upper lower extremities are normal in color and capillary refill within 3 seconds, skin is warm periphery with no edema. S1 is heard in all sites and S2 is heard all sites but louder at base and tachycardia observed. Skin is pale, dry, soft, warm. No edema, lesions or odor, good turgor, no signs of insect bite, rashes on face.Medical Diagnosis and other pertinent medical information (500 words) When received the patient the physician has requested ECG, derivation tests as following Full blood count, Cardiac enzymes, Liver function test, Electrolytes, serum, PT + APTT, ESR. Potential and actual disorders of limpid and electrolyte bala nce occur in every setting, with every disorder, and with a variety of changes, that affect healthy people, (e.g., increased fluid and sodium loss with strenuous exercise and high environmental temperature, inadequate intake of fluid and electrolytes) as well as those who are ill. (Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010)Patient Fluid (Urea) electrolytes results are normal.12/11/14SerumInitial diagnostic test begin with serum laboratory studies, including but not limited to CBC, masterful metabolic panel, prothrombin time/partial thromboplastic time, triglycerides, liver function tests, amylase, and lipase. Studies such as carcinoembrynoic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen (CA). (Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010)Liver function test are normal. Cardiac enzymes are normal. Creatinine is normal. The patient was diagnosed as having an anaphylactic shock, the case was chosen because it is very common and could happen to anyone by exposure to an allergen of any kind which is in this case an insect bite. The community may not be aware about how dangerous is evolution a serious reaction from a small allergen such as insect bite. The statistics was not specified in Bahrain but in some countries worldwide Systemic allergic reactions to insect stings are reported by 0.3% to 7.5% of persons in the United States and Europe. (Ruff et al., 2009) An anaphylactic reaction is an acute systematic hypersensitivity that occurs within seconds or minutes after exposure to an allergen or foreign substance. It is a result of the relationship between Antigen and Antibody, The immunoglobin E is the responsible for human allergic reaction. The person may have a hypersensitivity to the malevolences of insects (hymenoptera), stings in any part of the body can trigger anaphylaxis. The signs and symptoms includes Itching, nasal congestion, chest tightness, wheezing, cyanosis, dyspnea, planetaryized itching over the body, urticarial, tacky or bradycardia, pallor, decreased blood pressure, circulatory failur e leading to coma and death, nausea, vomit and diarrhoea. (Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010) All the required tests has been done to the patient in RR except antibody screening which refers to a special protein that is found on the surface of RBC to check for RH positive or negative. (Mayoclinic.org, 2014) IV cannula inserted once received the patient, Injection Hydrocortisone 300mg IV given, Injection promethazine 50mg IV given, Injection adrenaline 0.5mg s/c given, Injection Ranitidine 50mg IV given. Patient put on Cardiac monitor, Dexamethasone 10mg IV given, old file requested, chest x-ray requested, Paracetamol 1g IV, changed the patient and unplowed clean, Injection rocephin 2g given on Right Arm. The physician advised to be kept on 1.5 litres of Normal Saline for 12 hours, 2-4 litres of Oxygen on nasal cannula, kept the patient covered with obligatory blanket to keep her warm and comfortable.Impact of the condition on the patients Quality of career (200 words)The patient may mov e on to anaphylaxis which is dangerous fatal stage thus the treatment did a great job in reducing this effect by using drugs such as epinephrine (Adrenaline) which inhibits the mediator release from mast cell and basophils and protect the patient from upgrading to anaphylaxis. The hydrocortisone prevented relapse or protracted anaphylaxis. Lockey, 2014 states that the group O therapy will deliver the required oxygen to the patient which makes her comfortable. Promethazine will act on receptor as antihistamine which will reduce the itching and has a sedation effect will put the patient into more comfort. Ranitidine will prevent gastric acid secretion which reduces the nausea and vomiting. Rocephin is an antibiotic which inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis and will lead to cell death (Skidmore-Roth, 2012). Normal saline to maintain hydration of the patient. After receiving the treatment patient is feeling better, nausea and vomiting reduced, itching reduced, the patient is com fortable with the treatment.Discussion (700 words)The patient treatment started with requesting blood tests which shows any abnormal values to be treated. Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 advised that treatment starts with removing the causative agent which is the insect venom but the patient did not know the exact site of the bite thus physical examination smooth that at that place is no proof of an insect bite. Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 admits that the patient should be given the necessary tweak support of basic life functions which was given already to the patient, epinephrin was given as vasoconstrictive. Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 states another drug named Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) included in treatment of this condition to reverse the effect of histamine and reducing the capillary permeability but replacement alternative was given which were Promethazine and Ranitidine that acts on H1 and H2 receptors (Antihistamine) (Skidmore-Roth, 2012). Another medication which was stated b y Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 albuterol through nebulization to reverse the histamine bronchospasm if occurred. Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 recommended that IV lines should be inserted to provide access to administer fluids and medication, IV cannula was inserted to the patient. They also state that respiratory locating is measured by monitoring respiratory rate and if there is any abnormal lung sound and pulse rate any rhythm to be monitored regularly, cardiac monitor was put on the patient to assess the respiratory status and vital signs of the patient. The physical examination of the chest clarify that lung sounds are normal. Oxygen was applied to the patient to help compensate breathing pattern. The patient was assessed for previous allergies or exposure to such antigens and the understanding of the patient about this condition to prevent any future complications. Locky, R. 2014 recommended that the family should be educated about how to avoid the allergen and know the cardinal c auses of any allergy. Lockey, 2014 recommends that the patient should be given an auto injector which is a syringe that automatically injects single dose of medication when triggered and to be educated about it and the necessary information such as dose, expiry date, route of administration. Such device is given to many people that are at high risk of developing anaphylaxis only during an anaphylactic emergency. The patient and the family should be also educated about prevention of exposing to the allergen by wearing protective clothes that is covering all the skin when needed to do such sport in public area and the onset symptoms that occurs when already exposed to such allergen. As stated in Brunner and Smeltzer, 2010 there is early simple management that could be done by the patient or the relative by removing the venom or stinger of the insect when found, affront care to be done using water and soap, scratching to be avoided to prevent histamine, to apply ice on the bite site a s it will reduce the swelling and decreases the venom absorption by the body. In my opinion, the patient should be identified by wearing an allergy warning band that contains emergency information in case if the patient fainted or lose consciousness. The allergy should be documented in the patient file to avoid any further exposure to allergy and to avoid using the venom immunotherapy (VIT) which treats certain medical conditions. The patient should be monitored carefully during hospitalization because any adverse complication may occur suddenly. The patient should be referred to an allergist or immunologist to follow up regularly to maximize the quality of life. Conclusion and recommendations (100 words)An allergic reaction could develop anywhere in the nursing practice such as administering certain drug that the patient allergic to or using and device that has an allergen element. Nurses must highly prioritize the general assessment done when receiving patients specially asking for allergy for any medication or substance or any allergic reaction that occurred in the past, because we held such responsibilities to prevent any fatal complications that occurs because of anaphylactic reaction, shock or anaphylaxis. Nurses must be aware of such symptoms to detect an early reaction which could be preventable as soon as possible. This will be beneficial to the patients and nurses to deliver the maximum health outcomes.ReferencesBrunner, L. and Smeltzer, S. (2010). Brunner Suddarths textbook of medical-surgical nursing. High Bypass Ratio Turbofan

high Bypass Ratio Turbo winnowINTRODUCTIONTurbofan locomotives be basically turbojet engines which atomic number 18 provided with a deep fan. These were developed to combine some of the best features of both turbojet and turboprop engines. The major advantage of turbofan engines are that it provides a better fuel efficiency. roughly of the airliners today use turbofan engines. (Aviation History online museum c. 2008)Bypass proportionality It is defined as the potful proceed rate of air bypassing the combustion chamber to the mass flow rate of air passing through with(p) the core of the engine.Figure I Schematic diagram of Low and High Bypass Turbo fan (Yoon J. 2001)Turbo fan engines may be sub-categorized based on the bypass ratio as-Low-bypass ratio turbofanA small amount of air bypasses the combustion chamber, through the fan ducts and the fan is of very small diameter. These are compact in nature.High-bypass ratio turbofanThe fan in a high-bypass turbofan is much large to force a large volume of air through the ducts. These can generate more thrust, are better in fuel efficiency and are less noisy than the other engines. (Yoon J. 2001)The three major companies to introduce turbofan engines were General Electric, Rolls Royce and Pratt Whitney. All of these companies introduced there version of turbofan engine one aft(prenominal) the other. The first high bypass turbofan engine was developed by general electric the GE-T39 in 1964 this was developed in response to the desire of the join States Air Force. (General Electric Co. 2008)Figure III Pratt Whitney Turbofan engine (Serra 2008)Currently the turbofan engine market is dominated by General Electric, Rolls-Royce plc and Pratt Whitney. GE Aircraft Engines, a part of General Electric, has the largest share of turbofan engine market. (Opentia n.d.)The major disadvantages of these engines is its complexity to manufacture as it contains a multiple shaft system, the large diameter of the engine and a requirement to contain such heavy face up fan swords which make it a bulky machine. (WordIQ n.d.)FUNCTIONS OF THE FRONT FANThe front fan or the inlet cowl plays a multi-functional role in the running of a turbofan engine. These are comparatively larger in size than the other separate of the engine. This variation in size facilitates in the creation of a bypass air flow. The bypass air flow is defined as the air entry the engine solely not flowing through the compression stages, it flows out of the engine as a bypass to the engine core. This bypass air flow is designed to develop an additional thrust as it passes from the outer surface of the engine core. This bypass air not only generates the additional thrust but helps in lowering the surface temperature of various parts in the engine as it acts as coolant acting on the external surface engine body. It likewise helps in reducing the noise created by the engine as it suppresses the exhaust noise.Apart from the above functions , the fan blades play a major role in reducing the speed of the air entering the engine. For better fuel efficiency, the air entering the combustion chamber must be highly compressed (Compression ratio around 15). For this the air must pass through the compression stages at sub sonic speeds. The front fan blades act as an obstruction to the ledger entry air and reduce its speed. Also, the curvature provided on each fan blade direct the air reddenly across the inlet of the engine, increasing efficiency. The air is guide in a manner to provide a radial inlet to the compressor. (Benson Jul 29 2008)IN SERVICE CONDITIONSThe front fan blades are subjected to various conditions which they should be able to sustain in order for proper functioning of the engine. The may be classified as-Temperature The fan blades are subjected to a temperature cast of 60oC. The blade material should remain stable in this grade of temperature.Figure III Turbofan engine temperature and pressure distribut ion by NASAPressure The pressure range for fan blades can be classified between 0.192atm (40,000ft) to 1atm (sea level).Stresses The maximum stress concentration can be observed at the root of the blade. supreme tensile stresses and laminar shear stress occur at the root of the blade. Maximum tensile stress concentrations, under steady state conditions, are saturated about the undercut radius on either side of the shear slot key. This is due to the centrifugal loads incurred small-arm the blades are rotating.Icing frappe may accumulate on the fan blades and on the fan rotor when flying under high humidity and temperature around freezing point. The ice on the surface of the fan blades disturbs the airflow and generates vortices. These vortices can lead to an unstable compressor operation. They facilitate stall and surge. This ice also induces an imbalance which leads to vibrations. Detached ice pieces from this can even create a risk for foreign object damage when they hit the fan rotor and components behind the fan. (Diesinger 2008 179)OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTSThe various operational requirements of the material for the front fan blades of a turbofan engines can be summarized as a material with-Fatigue ResistanceFront fan blades undergo cyclic toil loads. It has been observed that the fatigue failure has often been a reason for initiation of fatigue crack on the blade surface.Fatigue failure (No. of cycles) 1/ train of StressCorrosion ResistantIn rainy or overcast conditions, the fan blades must be corrosion resistant to turn away rusting on the blades. The rusting can cause abrasions on its surface which may result as an obstruction in the motion of flowing air.Light in cargoAs discussed earlier, the turbofans are one of the heaviest turbine engines and the front fan blades add quite a lot to the weight of the engine due to its size. Hence, it is desirable to have a material which is effectively light in weight.VibrationsThe material should be able to withstand vibrations produced in the engine due to the high speed incoming air. High frequency vibrations can cause de-stabilization to the aircraft.BladesThe front fan blades must undergo super plastic forming at the tip to retain a blade angle. The blades are provided with a double circular arc blade profile for subsonic compression of the incoming air. After casting the blades should undergo annealing at recrystallization temperature for the remotion of residual stresses that may have induced during the forming process. (Babu 2009110-111)Blades should have sharp edges to be able to crush all particle that comes in way of its operation. This is to avoid any foreign body from entering the turbine and damaging the engine.High stiffnessThe blade material should have a high stiffness so as to avoid any deformation on its surface in case an object strikes it while in operation.Resistance to cracksThe materials of the blades should be resistant to cracks as even on crack initiation the material should resist the developing of the crack. In case if the material is not crack resistant then it might result in quick developing of crack resulting into failure of the fan blades, which can lead to further engine trouble.MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICSVarious material characteristics that need to be considered while selecting the material for the front fan blades of a turbofan engine are-High tensile strength and fatigue strength.Low density.Resistance to corrosion.Sustain temperature range 60 oC.High fracture toughness.Damping capability.Hardness 327-339 HV. (ATSB 200115)Avoid any residual stresses as they can lead to cracks.Avoid ice formation by providing cunning surface to the fan blades. (centrifugal action)SUMMARYFrom the above information we can summarize that the front fan blade plays a very crucial role in turbofan engines. These help in achieving better fuel consumption and hence are of great importance to the turbofan engine. Material selection for the blades should be done carefully considering the requirements such as High endurance Limit, Low density, removal of residual stresses, High fracture toughness, High damping Capability and resistance to corrosion.

Internet of Things (IoT) in Insurance

Internet of Things (IoT) in amendsThere argon many Insurers with well-defined IoT establish consequences in their core argumentation product space, much(prenominal)(prenominal) as Usage-Based Insurance in auto insurance, discounted smart sensor stratagem offers etc. Large Property and Casualty (PC) insurers concord been reflection the IoT technology space mature over a period of last couple of years, and thus relieve oneself capitalized well on their learnings and analysis. Expectations from IoT continues to grow in the theatre of operations of insurance.IoT is not just about the connected catchs, but any IoT solution is incomplete without capturing the real- quantify and germane(predicate) education. This captured information should be available in cloud, to have the ability to run advanced analytics to provide appropriate client and other stakeholder dashboards. It is key for the insurers to leverage their existing high volume of data, and develop the ability to p ostulate improved outcomes for customers, brokers partners. In this article, we review the journey of IoT in the insurance industry, and we discuss what to expect from IoT in future. Other aspects of this article includes the impact of other technology trends with IoT, such as Blockchain, Artificial scholarship, inbred Language processing etc.Influence in PC (Property Casualty) and ( purport Annuities) LA industriesIoT has been able to mark its impact in PC market, but LA market still needs exploring opportunities. PC insurers have deployed more IoT projects than LA players have. Connected ecosystem is one of the core IoT trends in the insurance space. slightly 34 percent of customers have indicated that they would be inclined to smart homes and real estates. Close to follow in terms of trends are the wearables with 30 percent customer interest. In terms of numbers, LA has only 5% projects deployed, whereas in PC percentage is 12%. The trends clearly indicate that growth of IoT based solutions in both the domains is obvious. As IoT grows in adoption, leading insurers testament find ways to leverage the data available from these technologies to improve operations and better engage customers.BI Intelligence recently projected that by 2020, there go out be over 34 billion connected IoT devices, and over $6 trillion spent on IoT solutions in the next 5 years. With this expected growth in IoT and wearables, insurers need to plan for their use by consumers and the impact of these devices on consumer behavior and expectations.Below are a couple of success stories in the PC world where IoT has played a hearty role in improving their businessProgressive pelletProgressive insurance groups Snapshot product is a flagship initiative that primary deals with IoT and high volume of data with analytics to provide Usage-based insurance to its customers. Its primary intent is to strengthener good driving, and thereby encourage insureds to save in their insurance costs. Snapshot is an OBD II based simple device that pluggable into most modern cars. This device keeps a track on the driving habits such as usage of brakes, average speed etc., along with other relevant data such as time of driving etc.Liberty Mutual Google NestLiberty Mutual has collaborated with Google Nest to provide its customers an ability to prevent perils. IoT based solutions are effective with very large volumes of data flow between entities, over network s and many a times over cosmos networks. Such solutions make the Insurance Company vulnerable to interceptions.Large investments are required to secure IoT generated data, to avoid intrusions as well as misuses of such data for fraudulent activities. IoT solutions should include a clear focus on identifying and addressing the possible security put on the lines and threats as an important aspect. Insurers and the insureds should understand the security dimension of such solutions to master appropriate measures are in place.Data Volume managementStrength of IoT solution is to provide and capture data (real-time in most cases), which is added to the Insurers big data repositories. Such large datasets are the assets for the insurance companies and the whole solution relies on how stakeholders utilize these large volumes for the benefit of all. With large data volumes, comes the volume management challenges that requires signifi keistert planning and appropriate enterprise strategy. I t is also very important to plan the inclusion of the IoT real-time data with the historic data such as Policy, Client, and Claims data etc.Data ownership is also a challenge with IoT data management strategies. It is always a challenge to understand if the data belongs to the insured or the insurer. There are other data challenges such as privacy, data tampering etc., which need absolute attention from the Insurers while defining and establishing a long-term solution.Standardization and RegulationWith an increasing trend of growing numbers of IoT devices, interoperability is already a challenge. Plenty of startups as well as large players are toilsome to capitalize on the IoT market by deploying and integrating devices. With lack of regulations and agreements in place, the IoT solutions are bound to fail. There have been quite a few initiatives by many players on this front, but the process maturity will take some time. affray to existing large business modelsInsurance industrys business relies on the right balance between the volume of risk managed, and the claims associated with the covered risks. To understand this better, insurers always seek to contain the volume of claims by baulk measures to have a good handle on the loss ratio. This leads to have a direct impact on their written premium to losses ratio and thus improves their margins. IoT solutions take back a great advantage in avoidance of claims by providing relevant indications and alerts for most of the critical major perils. There is always a threshold to such business theory because if the claims keep going down then it will have a direct effect on bringing down the premiums as well. Insurers need to ensure the IoT based solutions provide the right balance and manage the alignment between solutions and core business models.IoT with other technologiesInsurance industry has recognize the importance of IoT in its business, and we have seen a clear growth trend for the last couple of years. We believe that the trend will continue in the similar direction, with an add-on in the implementations of IoT based solutions. IoT solutions involve multiple technologies to maximize benefits for stakeholders. For example, IoT solutions are inclusive of Analytics, Cloud, protocol management etc. Some of the other trends where we see an quick impact in the insurance industry areNatural Language ProcessingTalking to devices is not something new for the human beings. We have had our smartphone based digital assistants in existence for quite long now. Amazon echo has already pioneered in the home digital assistant space. Imagine a situation where an IoT device like Amazon echo, captures the conversations by a senior citizen living alone. IoT devices can be extremely beneficial in emergencies for senior homes, and NLP capabilities to such sensors can help prevent any medical situation by understanding, processing and alerting appropriate agencies for help.NLP and Text processing is predi cted to have a imperative disruption in the insurance industry by providing abilities such as selective information retrieval from unstructured data, sentimental analysis to streamline the flow of information to customers thereby improving customer relationships, kiosk based Chabot etc.BlockchainBlockchain looks very promising when it comes to providing some of the challenges that IoT solutions possess. Roadblocks such as inorganic scaling of IoT devices (without identity, or interoperability), information and privacy concerns etc. can leverage the fundamental principles of Blockchain technology for an appropriate resolution. We foresee Blockchain considered as a heavyweight partner technology for IoT based initiatives.Insurance companies and their technology arms will need to understand and implement the appropriate solutions involving Blockchain. Blockchain comes with its own baggage of challenges hence we recommend a thorough study of the job scenario.Artificial IntelligenceIo T generates high volumes of data, and such significant and relevant data is of no use if we do not have machine-learning capabilities introduced in our IoT based solutions. As the devices are increasing, so will the data volume as well. This significant and invaluable data will help our systems to understand what is working vs what is not working. This data volume goes beyond human capabilities for analytics hence, a machine learning will be inevitable to maximize the return from IoT based solutions.Future Impact of IoT in Insurance IndustryIoT based solutions have done tremendous development in all horizons of human life and the impact has been on positive as well as negative side. On the positive side, IoT provides real time data, which provides useful information ahead of time to both Insurers and Insureds that helps them in taking preventive action and reduces/eliminates losses. On the negative side, IoT brings risks, both physical and financial with the connected devices over In ternet. Some of the significant areas of IoT impact listed belowNeed of Cyber Insurance policies will grow With the growth of IoT, the risk of data loss and resulting liabilities will increase. Cyber insurance policies provide coverage against data liability losses and the costs involved repayable to data breaches, hence there will be improved focus on cyber insurance products, which increase the sale of such policies.List of excluded risks will increase in cyber policies With IoT penetrating more and more in human life the risk of cyber-attacks on IoT devices will also increase. Providing coverage against all these risks will be loss for Insurance carriers hence insurers will provide specific exclusion for cyber perils.Minimize the insurance need IoT based solutions will continue to alter the risk associated with customers and their perils, which will make both Insurance carriers Insureds aware of the risks before time. This will have an impact on the global insurance market, as the chances of error will reduce which results in shrinking the insurance market thereby minimizing the need for insurance.Artificial Intelligence and containers will distribute IoT The year 2017 would see Internet of Things software product distributed crossways cloud services, edge devices, and gateways. Further, machine-learning cloud services and Artificial Intelligence will be used to mine data from IoT devices.Role of Insurance carriers in IoT security will increase More and more inclination of consumers towards IoT enabled devices lead to more security risk for them. Since IoT technology is changing so fast, it has become a big challenge for the insurance regulators to cope up with that and design the new products accordingly. Insurers are taking on the financial risk associated with the increase use of IoT hence, they will address the IoT security via proper underwriting.IoT will affect the mobile industry in both directions Many upcoming solutions will create enhance d mobility solution requirements and at the same time, we will see some IoT solutions making mobile apps redundant. With increased connected devices, mobility solutions will enhance the user experience using digital assistants, smart watches etc.IoT certification will suppress Industry specific certification In order to get into the nerves of IoT, the vendors will be propel to get IoT certified inspite of having Industry specific certified. Investments will be focused on minimal cost based trainings and certifications along with maintaining high standards of these certifications. Along with it, all major industrial vendors will come together to jointly certify their IoT-enabled products with enterprise vendors.*Forrester ICRMC ReportNIIT technologies IoTWe have been participating in the growth of IoT based solutions across industries. Invest on partner technologies, as per relevance with your businessStart looking beyond business as usual. Disruption in business has already become a norm, hence business, technology and product research should be an ongoing process. Focus on impact by IoT innovations on insurance products, for example, insuring driverless cars, drones etc.Enhance your business model and focus on how to help customers adopt the IoT based solutions. Without customer buy-in, IoT solutions will have no value, and the benefits to the insurance companies is quite high hence, it is worth the focus. For many insurance products, IoT has minimized the need of large historic data and maturity. This has happened because IoT has the ability to provide real-time, more relevant and custom user specific data to improve and customize underwriting. This has allowed smaller players to jump in to particip ate in this levelled field. Large insurers need to be plastic to customization of products and need to bring in more agility in product designing as well.Insurers should invest on appropriate certainty of Value and Proof of Concept initiatives for IoT solutions with their trusted partners before initiating any industry scale implementation or solution.Abbreviations and AcronymsIoT Internet of ThingsPC Property and Casualty insuranceLA Life and Annuities insuranceNLP Natural Language Processing
